To support Online Journalists in providing, initiating, researching and developing up-to-date, accurate and relevant content for the u.tv Internet site covering news, current affairs, sport and entertainment which is of relevance to an all-Ireland audience. |

JOB DESCRIPTION |
|
|
|
- To support colleagues in providing accurate and relevant content for the u.tv website [news, current affairs, sport and entertainment] including writing up news stories and preparing pictures for the web
- To help manage and moderate user comments that are sent to the website
- To edit and upload video content for the u-player
- To make recommendations and implement approved developments on the u.tv website
- To maintain and update the UTV Internet picture library/video archive
- To co-ordinate online competitions with on-air and PR colleagues
- To ensure subsites for UTV programmes/special projects are up-to-date, relevant and comply with guidelines
- To keep up-to-date with developments in internet technologies
- To ensure internet content meets legal and compliance requirements
- To liaise with other staff/departments to ensure the efficient use of broadcast resources
- To represent the Company at appropriate meetings as required
- To ensure health and safety standards are adhered to
- Any other reasonable duties as required
Education:
- ‘A ’Level standard or equivalent
- Third Level qualification desirable
- Journalism qualification desirable
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year in an administration or research role
- Experience of working in a broadcasting/media environment desirable
- Experience of Photoshop and video editing software e.g. Avid Newscutter
- Online experience desirable including use of content management system
Skills:
- IT Literate
- Good communication skills, both written and oral
- Excellent organisational skills
