Simply Zesty

Simply Zesty is a very successful Irish business with an international presence in the fast-growing social media sector. This acquisition strengthens UTV’s existing New Media division and adds further impetus to our multi-media strategy.

Simply Zesty was set up in 2009 and employs 22 staff at its Dublin offices specialising in providing social media marketing services to assist businesses in creating innovative social media campaigns. With a blue chip client base of more than 100 companies, including Sony, Volkswagen Group and ebookers,com, Simply Zesty is also steadily building its international presence, which now represents more than 15% of revenues and is growing strongly.

The social media presence of UTV Media’s radio and television stations in the UK and Ireland will also be enhanced by the acquisition of Simply Zesty, facilitating far greater integration of media across online and broadcast platforms.

Simply Zesty’s well-proven social media expertise will ensure that advertising clients across the UTV Group, whose campaigns require the most effective multiplatform spread, will continue to be extremely well served.

The business is technology led, built around the core principles of attention to detail, enhanced user experience and customer service excellence. The site has achieved phenomenal growth in the past three years, and is now ranked as one of the major players in the online space across Ireland.

The company has achieved many significant milestones, including a 50% acquisition by UTV New Media in September 2010, becoming an approved supplier of data for the Northern Ireland region to Google Maps, and surpassing all rivals in terms of size in early 2010.

UTV Drive

Launched in 2009 the site is easy to use and offers an excellent choice of used cars from car dealers and private sellers across Northern Ireland. Since the launch, the site has continued to grow steadily both in volume of cars and the number of visitors regularly using the site.

The portal includes the latest information on the local car news with a new section on the online UTV Drive Magazine. This is a local source with the latest new car reviews and up to the minute motor industry news all written by the leading local motor journalists from across Northern Ireland.

Recruit NI

This locally owned business developed a reputation for excellent customer service, value for money and a real alternative to the traditional methods of recruitment advertising. This success was recognised by UTV New Media and RecruitNI was acquired in February 2009. Since the acquisition the site has undergone a re-design and continues to add new features which benefit both candidates and recruiters.

In late 2009, a dedicated Executive Careers section (www.recruitexecutive.com) was successfully launched which exclusively carries jobs with salaries of £50k/€50k and over.  The Executive section is an All Ireland section on the site and was the first of its kind in this market.

In April 2010, RecruitNI launched a Public Sector section (www.recruitpublicsector.com). This is a dedicated section, giving a central search area for those looking for jobs within the Public Sector. It has attracted significant market interest and remains a significant part of the business for the future.
